Meet the therapist.

About me.

Who am I?

Hello, I’m Kate Snewin. I am a therapist because I know that suffering is something we all experience in life, we can't avoid it. Being able to be alongside someone in their distress is a privilege that I feel fortunate to be able to do.

I believe that any of us can experience emotional and mental health difficulties because we humans have tricky brains, which can be hard to navigate. Experiencing difficult things and having strong emotions are not things we choose. Together, we can make sense of what is happening and find a way forwards.

From NHS to private practice

I worked as a Registered Mental Health Nurse since 2009, firstly on inpatient wards before transitioning to community work. I am dedicated to ongoing professional development and continue to study with a focus on the neurobiology of trauma and attachment. I hold a postgraduate qualification in Compassion Focused Therapy, as well as attending workshops on different aspects of CFT, with a particular focus on creative methods in therapy, learning directly from the founder of CFT, Paul Gilbert.

A safe space for all

As a queer identifying therapist, I know the importance of openness and curiosity over assumption. My therapy practice seeks to provide a safe and respectful space for all.
